Nicole Brookens is a seasoned professional with 10 years of experience in Morgue Operations and Forensic Autopsy Technology. She has honed her expertise over the years, working with key companies like Bronson Methodist Hospital and the Office of the Medical Examiner – WMED. Nicole’s strengths lie in her leadership, fairness, kindness, and social intelligence, which she combines with persistence, creativity, and a love of learning. Her dedication to her work is evident in her notable achievements, such as being the first recipient of Rewards & Recognition at WMED and spearheading the implementation and improvement of evidence storage procedures. Nicole is a member of the Staff Advisory Council, a Wellness Ambassador, and actively contributes to NAFAT. With a degree in criminal justice, she brings a unique perspective to her role.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Nicole’s personal interests revolve around her 9-year-old son, whom she supports in all his sports and artistic pursuits. She is passionate about seeking a standard of postmortem care that gives a voice to the deceased, closure to families, and information crucial for justice. Nicole’s blend of organization, passion, and open-mindedness drives her to make a meaningful impact in the field of forensic science, ensuring dignity and respect in every aspect of her work.
